Pretty sure. Suppose Visual Objects has created type-library cache of some sort from the old version, and it now breaks the new version? If you know of such cache file being used, try deleting it.

This is driving me crazy Sad

I can't find anything in VO. OS related, maybe?

I removed every reference to FlowChartX in registry - a few thousands Grin
Then I registered the 45 beta. Same result.

OLE View snapshots:

Version 4.4

Version 4.5beta (still reported as 4.4)

There are differences. Are you sure they can't be related?

The values shown by OLE View are the same from what I can see, except the AppID key shown for v4.4. However AppId is not added there by FlowchartX - it might have appeared when you used the "COM Automation Server" import option.

Incidentally, I now got a "Base class generation failed" message when trying to import into the default "GUI Classes" listed for the project, but first it shows an "Application GUI Classes is write protected!" message. If I run "Setup OLE Control" while the "Application" icon is selected instead of "GUI Classes", it works fine.

I appreciate the time you are spending on this, I really do  Smiley

I only used the COM Automation Server with 4.5 after beeing unable to use Setup OLE Control, and AppID appears only in version 4.4.

GUI Classes is a library that may be included in Applications or other libraries, and it is read only like any other system library.

The right way to create a library to FlowChart is: select the project (should be Default Project for you), select "New Application" with right button, choose tab Basic->Empty Library->Ok. Then, with the new library selected, Tools->Setup OLE Control->Generate Class.
Using these steps, version 4.4 works in every situation, no matter the VO version or OS, and 4.5 never works. This is a fact here, so something should be different.

Perhaps try this build with updated type library version number, in case import does not work because of some kind of cache by version number:
https://mindfusion.eu/_beta/fcx45.zip

First unregister older version using regsvr32 /u to remove 4.4 registry keys, then register new one to add 4.5 keys. If it still doesn't work, try contacting GrafXSoft support, they should be better able to help you out.
