Hello, I have inherited an old C#(.NET 2.0) project that makes a reference to MindFusion.FlowChartX dll. When building I get the error:

"Exception occurred creating type 'MindFusion.FlowChartX.FlowChart, FlowChart.NET, Version=4.2.1.26996, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=a0d18338041985ba' System.ComponentModel.LicenseException: Couldn''t get design-time license for ''MindFusion.FlowChartX.FlowChart'' C:\NSG Compiled\MES\MES Source Codes\xRFC\xRFCv4.7.0\FCNETWRAP\licenses.licx"

I have the dll and I have the license file, but i'm not sure how to solve this error. How can I fix this error? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Old versions were looking for license keys in the Windows registry. You could either run the installer, or export the registry key from a system where it was already installed and import into your system.

Thanks Slavcho. I ran the installer for MindFusion Winforms and MindFusion.Diagramming for WinForms taken from the mindfusion website. Neither was able to remove that error. Is there a different installer I should use?

We no longer use registry keys so the latest installers won't add them. If you don't keep your original v4.2.1 installer, contact us by email and we'll look for one in our archives.
