Performance of the paint method

Hi there.

Resizing my window, dragging another window over the flowchart or selecting an box inside of the flowchart takes a "long" time(up to 2 seconds) before everything is repainted.

Are there any tips to improve the performance of the paint method?

Thanks.

Hi,

I cannot imagine why redrawing would take that much time. Could you email me a diagram of yours so our developers can test that here ?

Thanks

Hi stoyo,

I just found my problem.

It seems to me, that this problem occurs, when the grid is shown and the flowchart is docked into the form.
Now resize/maximize the form and the problem occurs, because there are many points to draw.

In addition the zoomfactor was 40, which increased number of points and the time for repainting, too.

Thanks

Hi Patrick,

Yes indeed, drawing the grid points takes much time when the zoom factor is small. Now in the ActiveX version of this control the grid points are not drawn when they are very dense; we will copy this check to FC.NET too.
