Viewer Compatability with Windows 98?

I am using a legacy system, Windows 98, Internet Explorer 5.5 MS, MS Office 97. Sort of outdated, but am waiting for Vista.

I expect to have a need to view and print documents sent to me online that will be produced using the new MS Word 2007 default XML format. I don't need to create MS Word XML documents, just need to read them and print them out, occasionally also extracting photo images from the XML file.

Is anyone successfully using XML Viewer 3.0 with Windows 98 and IE 5.5, and would it do the kind of viewing I'm interested in?

Basically, what I'm looking for is something that will work like the old MS Word Viewer for Office 97. but that will work with Windows 98 and let me view and pirnt the new MS XML file format.

I sent an inquiry to MindFusion and Iva replied that it used to work under Windows 98, but they don't have Win 98 around to see if the current version works with it.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't think the viewer will work well for MSWord documents. You will just see the tree of all XML tags used in the document, and when you click a tag you will see the source XML markup under that tag. Not very convenient for reading Word files... Wink
