I need an example how to use

Layout.LayeredLayoutTraits.Layer and
EnableCustomlayers

to assign node to specific layer (different from that which was assigned by layout.Arrange(diagram) to.

A small application demonstrated the features of interest can be downloaded from the following link:

https://mindfusion.eu/_samples/_sample_LayeredLayout.zip

To assign custom layers, select the nodes and click any of the buttons 0..N. To clear any previously assigned layers, click 'Clear'. To execute the layout, click 'Layout'. Keep in mind that assigning the same custom layer to adjacent nodes is considered an error and will lead to unexpected results.
