Adding anchor points

I need to add anchor points programmatically so they appear on an edge and have small squares inside the shape. Does some have some generic code that does that?

The AnchorPoints example installed with the control shows adding three points per edge ("apat2" pattern). If you don't like default appearance, you could custom-draw as shown in diagram_DrawAnchorPoint event handler.
