CSng

Converts the value, specified as an argument, to a value of type float.

Syntax

float CSng (
    object value
)

Parameters

value

Any valid expression.

Return Value

Returns the specified argument converted to float, or 0, if the argument cannot be converted.

Remarks

If value is a number of any kind, it is converted to float. If value is a string, it is parsed as a float and the result is returned. If none of the above applies, 0 is returned.
