PocketPlanner in HighDPI

I'm testing the PocketPlanner now with a High DPI device and it doesn't display very well.

Some things that don't work right:
- Month view: clicking on the header of a day selects the day above
- Month view: Days in month header don't display completely. The same for the day numbers
- Day view: Text in shown appointments is too large
- Timetable view: Hours text at the left is too large
- Resource view: timeline text too large
- Week view: header text too large

So basically it all comes down to text being too large for the containing fields.

Do I have to change height properties myself based on High DPI?

I have some screenshots that I can send so you can see what I mean.

Thanks,
Jeffry

Screenshots will be highly appreciated. Also what is the device you are testing on?

Can I send the screenshots to support@mindfusion.org?

I tested it on a Dell Axim x51v and also on the Pocket PC 2003 SE VGA Emulator. The screenshots are from the emulator.

Yes, send the screenshots to that e-mail. I will test on the Pocket PC 2003 SE VGA Emulator here and see what happens and how it can be fixed.

Thank you,

It seems that fonts scale appropriately in high DPI devices while the rest of the calendar contents do not. What I can suggest is to manually increase the size of all calendar elements through the corresponding settings objects by multiplying them by 2. For example, increase CellSize from 25 to 50 etc.

Of course this is going to cause problems if you intend to target both types of devices with your application. In this case we might have to introduce some new properties which enable you to scale all metrics automatically.

Ok thanks for the analysis.

We have a IsHighDPI property in our application and based on that we already resize controls in other area's of the application (specifically show 32*32 instead of 16*16 images), so we can use that here also.

It would be a nice feature to introduce in a next version though  Smiley

Hi Meppy,

Following your advice, I want to adjust the size of the elements in the calendar so they can be rendered properly in the time table view. I changed successfuly the size of the appointments, etc. however I don't know how to make wider the column in the left with the time (with high DPI the columns that display the hours must be wider but I don't know how to adjust this value).

thanks for your help,
Gerardo

Hey Gerardo,

Try using the TimetableSettings.TimelineSize property for this purpose.
