KeepInsideParent and Rotation

Hello,

I have a flowchart that I create with a bottom bounding box (think of a fenced compound, the bottom box defines the area inside the fence).  I then create a new rectangular box, attach it to the bounding box, and set it to KeepInsideParent.  When a user then rotates the box it no longer obeys the bounds of the parent correctly, it keeps itself inside based on its ORIGINAL bounding rectangle rather than the new bounding rectangle created by the rotation.

Am I doing something wrong, or do you have an idea on how to make this work?

Thanks,
Jeff

Hello,

It seems we have omitted checking the RotationAngle. Until we fix this, you could handle BoxModifying and cancel the modification if the bounding rectangle of the rotated box is not entirely inside the parent's bounds.

Thanks Stoyo.

Are you going to fix both the 4 series and the beta versions??  We're still using the release 4 series.

Stoyo,

This problem is becoming an issue for us, is there any way that it can/will be fixed soon??

I would really like to not have to implement a workaround for it.

Thanks,
Jeff

This should have been fixed in the latest release. We can also port the fix to V4.3.1  if you don't wish to move to version 5 yet.

It would be most excellent if the fix could be backported to 4.3.  We are in the middle of a field trial of our software and really don't want to make a change as large as the move to version 5 until we are ready to make the same upgrade to other components.  (Version 2.0 of our software will be based on Flowchart.NET 5)

Stoyo,

OK, they ALMOST work.  While rotating the bounding rectangle seems to be updating just fine, but once I stop rotating and try to move the object it appears that the ORIGINAL bounding rectangle is being used to check for KeepInside.

Could you look at this for us??

Thank you,
Jeff

It works fine for me. Could you email me a saved flowchart file, so that we can test that with the same settings as yours?

Now I've seen that the constraint is not applied when dragging a multiple-selection. Is that the problem?

I have sent you updated assemblies which should work better with KeepInsideParent + rotation + multiple selection, in case that was the problem.
