Rendering of TextStyle.OverLongestSegment

I would like to use the DiagramLink's TextStyle = OverLongestSegment, however it looks like this mode displays an opaque rectangle behind the text, unlike the other 3 TextStyle modes which draws text with no background.

Is there a way to remove this background?

There is no way to remove the background at this time.
