Difficult to select lines

If a line is drawn above a shape, it is really hard to select it. You have to place the mouse pointer on excactly the right pixel to be able to do this otherwise the underlying shape will be selected.

Can the selectable area of a line be widened without making the line thicker?

Try assigning a larger value to the LinkHitDistance property.

This property does not seem to affect this. When the line is not above a shape, it will be selected even when the mouse pointer is somewhat distant from the line. The LinkHitDistance property seems to make this possible. But above the shape it is still almost impossible to select the line.

Have you also set HitTestPriority to ZOrder?
