Using Del key while inplace editing deleting whole node

I've created a custom node and use it to contain and display some text. Double-clicking on the node starts inplace editing. This works fine with one exception: If I try to use the Del key to delete a character the whole node is deleted.

Is there some way to avoid this? I do want the Del key to delete selected nodes when inplace editing is not happening, but not when the inplace editing is being done.

I can't get this to happen with the default text box shown when you double click, it seems the Del key cannot reach the DiagramView's handler at all when the box is on focus. Are you by chance showing your own editor control from the double click handler?

This turned out to be a mistake on my part - I had a MenuStrip item for Edit - Delete, and had specified the Del key as a shortcut key, and then had forgotten about that. Thanks to MindFusion people for finding the problem, very good service.
