DiagramLite 2.2 Released

Thursday August 4, 2011

MindFusion.Diagramming for Silverlight has just been released. The control can now handle large diagrams much faster and more efficiently, new properties and events are added. Here are the details:

Virtualization support

VirtualizingDiagram creates actual DiagramNode and DiagramLink instances only for the elements currently rendered on the screen. This keeps the Silverlight visual tree small and leads to huge performance improvements, if the diagram has thousands of elements.

The NodesSource and LinksSource properties let you add the nodes and links that should be rendered. You can use the BindingMode property to specify whether the data source should be updated when the user draws new diagram items interactively.

Virtualization: A diagram with thousands of nodes, only the currently visible nodes do exist.

  Resizing a multiple selection

Miscellaneous new features

Use the Clicked event to know that the user has clicked on the diagram at a point unoccupied by items.

The Viewport property lets you know the portion of your diagram that is currently visible in the ScrollViewer.

Multiple-resize is now done relatively to the item whose handle is being dragged instead of the ActiveItem.

Resize mouse cursors are now shown for multiple selection when AllowMultipleResize is enabled.

The new features are displayed in more details at the news page on MindFusion's discussion board. The trial version is available for a direct download from the following link:
