MindFusion.WPF Pack Q3.2011

Friday August 26, 2011

MindFusion.Pack for WPF has just been released. We have added new features to each of the five tools in the suite so that they can better serve your needs. Below we list the most important add-ons in each control. You can find more details at the forum.

MindFusion.Diagramming for Wpf

Dynamic node shapes: You can create shape instances using custom code that takes into consideration the current width and height of the nodes. These shapes have primitive elements that change non-uniformly, e.g. by growing only in width or height when a node is resized.

CompositeLayout Algorithm: This algorithm partitions the diagram into several subgraphs and on each of them is applied the algorithm specified with the SubgraphLayout property. If the part is a tree, it is arranged using the algorithm specified with the SubtreeLayout property. Finally, the algorithm specified with MasterLayout is applied on the graph that represents the overall partition.

  Spring layout

SpringLayout improvements: The Spring layout handles now better large nodes and nodes with non-uniform size. The SpringLayout energy model has been changed to one that leads to better symmetry in the arranged graphs. The old model can still be used by setting the LayoutMethod to Classic.

Other layout improvements: There are now improvements in the FlowchartLayout, the OrthogonalLayout, the CircularLayout and a new KeepLaneSizes property is added to the SwimlaneLayout.

Miscellaneous new features:
--> New method SetZoomFactor zooms your diagram with the specified zoom center point.
--> New AllowMultipleResize property lets you resize multiple nodes simultaneously.
--> The DrawAdjustmentHandles method lets you render adjustment handles with the standard look and feel when you use custom drawing.
--> The StableSort property lets you get consistent results between separate runs of the LayeredLayout algorithm.

MindFusion.DataViews for WPF

You can now drill in and out programmatically as well scroll to a particular activity or resource.

Reporting for Wpf

Exporting is much easier now as the APIs of all exporters are unified. There's also a new ExcelExporter that lets you export reports to the Open Office XML format.

The ExcelExporter in Scheduling for WPF
Scheduling for Wpf

You can now export your calendars to the Open Office XML format with the ExcelExporter. There's also a new ExportExcel method that lets you export MindFusion.Scheduling for Wpf reports. Many Calendar properties have been changed to dependency properties. Those include Schedule, Date, EndDate and many more.
